BRIDGESTONE COMMERCIAL MARCH 2025 VOLUNTARY RECALL

Bridgestone R123 Ecopia Voluntary Recall

Bridgestone Americas (Bridgestone) is issuing a voluntary recall on 1,185 Bridgestone R123 Ecopia long-haul radial trailer tires that do not meet the endurance testing requirements in S6.1 of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (“FMVSS”) No. 119. Bridgestone has determined that the subject tires were manufactured with one of the three stabilizer ply belts applied with the incorrect orientation. A tire that does not meet the performance requirement of the endurance test, under certain conditions, may increase the risk of a crash. Affected tires will exhibit an overly convex tread shape when fully inflated and may exhibit premature and/or irregular wear in the center/crown area of the tread after road use.

Of the 1,185 tires that are currently in the field, only 24 tires were manufactured with the incorrect stabilizer ply belt alignment. 18 of those 24 tires have been contained by Bridgestone, leaving 6 remaining tires in the field. Dealers, customers and fleet operators with the affected tires should contact their local Bridgestone dealer to exchange for a new replacement Bridgestone R123 Ecopia tire.
