NASHVILLE (December 3, 2024) – Bridgestone Americas (Bridgestone) today announced it raised more than $2.4 million for United Way of Greater Nashville through its 2024 “United by What Really Matters” fundraising campaign. The company also built upon its financial donations by implementing a robust employee volunteering program that totaled 500 volunteer hours across the region.
Since 2015, Bridgestone has raised more than $15 million for United Way to support essential services and programs across Middle Tennessee. This year, teammates at the company’s Americas headquarters in Nashville and a grant from the Bridgestone Americas Trust Fund contributed more than $850,000. Additionally, Bridgestone and its partners raised nearly $1.6 million at the company’s seventh annual Bridgestone United Way Charitable Golf Tournament, held October 15 at Hermitage Golf Club in Nashville. The tournament remains the largest single fundraising event for United Way nationwide.
“What really matters is helping empower our teammates to make a transformative difference in the communities where we move, live, work and play. That’s why United Way is one of Bridgestone’s most important and valued partners,” said Sara Correa, Chief Marketing Officer, Bridgestone Americas. “We are grateful for the generosity of our teammates and partners who continue to show up for our neighbors when they need it most by supporting United Way’s critical work.”
From November 7-22, Bridgestone extended this year’s campaign with its first-ever community service program for Nashville-based teammates. Collectively they volunteered 500 hours with United Way partner agencies and nonprofits to create hygiene kits, sort food, work in community gardens and more.
“We are incredibly grateful for Bridgestone's unwavering commitment to our mission,” said Erica Mitchell, CEO-Elect, United Way of Greater Nashville. “Their generous contributions and dedicated partnership have made a profound impact on our region, helping us unite the community and mobilize resources so that every child, individual and family thrives. Together, we are creating lasting change, and we look forward to continuing this meaningful collaboration.”
Bridgestone’s 30-year partnership with United Way demonstrates the Bridgestone E8 Commitment to realize a more sustainable society. This corporate commitment highlights eight Bridgestone-like values starting with the letter “E” that the company has committed to creating together with employees, society, partners and customers. These activities to benefit the United Way and the local community support the values of “Empowerment” and “Emotion”.
