Firestone Industrial Products Company, LLC (FSIP) announced a change in supply chain strategy with the opening of its new distribution center in Chobienice, Poland. The distribution center has been officially opened by FSIP President Emily Poladian, and the facility will help to centralize the company’s manufacturing and distribution operations in Europe.
Opening the new distribution center in Central Europe was a strategic choice for FSIP to better serve its customers in Europe. The new facility is located a short distance from the existing FSIP plant in Wolsztyn, Poland, enabling a smooth transfer of products from manufacturing to the warehouse. The modern distribution center has a footprint of more than 100,000 square feet, and it is equipped with four loading docks.
“As a leader in developing solutions to eliminate vibration in global transportation, Firestone Industrial Products continues to evaluate new business strategies and seek opportunities to better serve our customers,” said Emily Poladian, president, FSIP. “Our new approach focuses on centralizing many of our processes and operations in order to optimize the supply chain to our original equipment (OE) customers and aftermarket distributors across Europe.”
The announcement of the new distribution center follows several recent expansion announcements from FSIP and its parent company, Bridgestone Corporation (Bridgestone). In September, FSIP announced a 20,000 square foot expansion of its manufacturing facility in Wolsztyn, Poland, in addition to an investment in new technologies and equipment for the facility to utilize the latest innovations in machinery. Earlier this year, Bridgestone also announced new investments in eight tire plants across Europe, including two plants in Poland.
“Firestone Industrial Products continues to make strategic investments in Europe to better serve our customers, and we will continue to be innovative and dynamic as we respond to market growth,” said Poladian.
